Marcin Krokowski, wedding photographer in Warsaw
Before you let me spend a whole day with your family, you have every right to know who I am and how I look at things. What follows is a letter, not a CV.
Hello,
My name is Marcin and I photograph weddings.
I am from Mława, I grew up in Marki and I live in Warsaw. I mention it because half the venues I work at sit along that same road, and I do not need a map to find them.
I started in 2012 with event photography: parties, trade fairs and conferences in Warsaw. They taught me one thing that has stayed with me: the best frames happen when nobody remembers I am there. Between 2016 and 2018 I photographed the weddings of friends, and since 2018 I have done it for good.
Zegrze
I like muted colours, detail and emotion, and often black and white. While I work I use previews with the colour stripped out, so that I watch the light and the story rather than how nicely something glimmers. Colour is an extra here, not the subject.
What I am after is photographs you can still look at in twenty years, without being able to tell which year’s editing fashion they came from.
The exception to the rule
On the bus to the church
I am with you the whole day: from getting ready, through the ceremony, to the dancing. Close, but discreet enough not to make you self-conscious.
Along the way it usually turns out that I am not only the photographer. I end up being a witness, sometimes a driver, and sometimes the person who knows how to pin a boutonniere and tie a bow tie. You will probably also ask me why Nikon and not Canon.
I work alone, and that is the default. For larger weddings I can put together a team: a second photographer, a videographer, sometimes several people. I say so at the first conversation, because it is a decision we make together, not a line added to a package.
I would rather be a companion than the photographer
See you soon,
Marcin
The best photographer I have had the chance to work with, both professionally (at events) and privately (Marcin took our wedding photographs). Open to ideas, self-reliant, true to his word and extremely likeable. I recommend him 100%!

Getting ready
If you do not know whether we will get on, there is a cheaper way to find out than a Saturday.
I will say it plainly, because few people in this trade do: it may turn out that we are not a good match. I am direct and sometimes ironic. Most couples like that, because nothing gets stiff, but it is not for everyone.
I would rather you found that out on a session than on the Saturday itself, when there is no second chance. A session takes two to four hours, you get at least 60 edited photographs from it, and in Package 3 it is included.
Great photographs from the engagement session – unconventional, inventive frames and superb quality. I recommend him without hesitation

Tell me when and where
I will check whether the Saturday is free and reply within a day. One Saturday, one wedding.
