Albina and Elias put together an outdoor wedding at Pałac Zegrzyński by the Zegrze Reservoir, with the couple’s preparations taking place inside the palace itself. The ceremony was held right on the lake shore, with boats drifting past in the background for a lovely backdrop. In the same spot, we also did a short session by the reservoir, after which came a formal dinner full of moving, and funny, speeches.
The whole idea of holding the wedding here is a bit surprising, because it only actually happened on the third attempt, all down to the pandemic and the constant restrictions. Albina and Elias met in Warsaw, so they wanted their wedding to be in Poland too. Both of them have travelled widely and come from different parts of the world, as do their friends and family. Organising a wedding during the pandemic wasn’t easy, and because of it, the bride’s family couldn’t make it on the day, only friends who happened to be in Poland at the time.
Even so, the couple were happy it had finally happened, and that shows in the photos from the day.
Getting Ready at Pałac Zegrzyński
Elias’s preparations were originally meant to take place at a nearby hotel, where he’d stayed after flying into Poland. Interestingly, the couple were given a bottle of champagne from Swiss Air that day to mark their wedding, which no doubt came in handy for extending the celebrations. Unfortunately, thanks to missing or weak air conditioning at the hotel, we had to evacuate to Pałac Zegrzyński, where Elias got a room to get ready in instead. At the same time, Albina was getting ready in a beautiful room with a view over the whole ceremony site.
