Agnieszka and Bartek put together a wedding in a very relaxed, but beautiful style. Preparations began at their flat in Mokotów, where the whole family gathered while the couple got ready for the day. Bartek didn’t bother dressing up in formal shoes he’d only wear once a year, he went with his favourite Adidas Superstars, which he’d carefully prepped for the occasion along with his whole outfit. The wedding took place in Warsaw’s Old Town, where we travelled by a vintage bus, which later carried the guests to a restaurant in Śródmieście after the ceremony.
Getting Ready at Home
Preparations began at Agnieszka and Bartek’s flat, where close family members gathered. Some of them had come all the way from Italy for the big day, that was Agnieszka’s family. The weather was on our side, and despite a little pre-wedding stress, everyone had a good time and got to catch up as a family. After all, on such a wonderful day, everyone should be smiling.
To the Wedding in an Old Jelcz 043
After getting ready in a warm family atmosphere, a vintage bus turned up for the guests, a Jelcz 043, which fit everyone in without any trouble and provided plenty of entertainment along the way. The bus took us all the way to Sigismund’s Column in the Old Town. From there, we walked through the Old Town to the wedding hall at the registry office.
The Wedding in Warsaw’s Old Town
The Old Town is a unique place where Warsaw’s pre-war architecture has survived, including the Royal Castle. The ceremony took place right next door, at the civil registry office, which sits just a few metres from the castle gate. As is often the case at the registry office, the ceremony was quick, but just as emotional as a church wedding. There was a small surprise too, when the rings, as if on purpose, didn’t want to slide onto the fingers easily, but they got there in the end.
The Wedding Dinner in Śródmieście
The wedding dinner was held at the Wilcza restaurant in Warsaw’s Śródmieście district, where guests offered their congratulations to the couple before sitting down to a formal dinner. Meanwhile, the children got to join in games and activities organised for them by an entertainer.
